Remains of a Day (Video Diary)
A little abstract video diary of yesterday.
Creative fodder to help me explore…will be making a song in the electronica genre and have been trying to figure out where to start. Decided to make a handful of little videos of my days and either create random melodies to accompany or hum to what I see. Then I pair the audio with the video and send that off to my friend Brandon Hopp who I’ll be working with on the music. Hoping something in these little guys inspires a melody thought and we can build from there. And if not, an interesting exploration, nonetheless.
I used two cool tools (you HAVE to go play with the music one):
Flip Video Recorder
Small like a little digital picture camera. Fits in your purse or your back pocket. REALLY easy to use. Plugs right into your computer for simple offload of media. Even has its own editing software (which I didn’t use).
Tone Matrix
You can make your own melody in seconds by clicking and dragging your mouse – and it’ll sound lovely no matter how hard you try to make it sound like crap. I watched the video I made and then adjusted the sounds to try to match the pace of the video – so, sortof played it like an instrument.
Enjoy.
