I get to explore all kinds of fascinating things through my work as a Program Manager for the user experience design firm Adaptive Path, like: how to design touch screens for supermarkets that help people understand the health and environmental implications of their food choices, the challenges people face when choosing long term health care for their parents, and how to make the process of choosing European rail travel easier, to name a few.
When I’m not managing design projects, I make short films, interview interesting people for podcasts, photograph signage that tells people not to do things, make art and speak about my work. My short films and paintings have exhibited internationally in galleries in Guyana, Malaysia, China, Italy and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. With the aim of cultivating empathy, I use many different media to explore universal emotions and experiences that people are often uncomfortable sharing publicly.
